Getting to your Golf Holiday

How to get there - by air or sea

FLIGHTS
Most of the golfing destinations we feature are within easy travelling distance of an airport and many of these are served by the low cost airlines.

Our prices do not include flights although we can arrange flights from all UK airports at very competitive prices. Our systems allow us to source the best available flights from a host of airlines so please provide us with the date you wish to depart, from where, and the length of your stay and we’ll find you the best deal available. All airport taxes are included in the flight price quoted.

Airline Conditions
The conditions of carriage of the airline providing your flight will apply to your booking, some of which may limit the airlines responsibility to you. Cancellation and amendment charges may fall outside those listed in our booking conditions. A copy of the relevant carriers conditions are available on request.

Flights Timings
Flight times given at the time of booking are always provisional and may be subject to change by the airline. Airlines will notify us of any schedule changes as soon as they have them available, however final times will be confirmed on your tickets forwarded with your arrival documents.

Golf Club Carriage.
With airlines doing all possible to keep flight prices low, it is now common practice for them to charge for the carriage of golf clubs. Costs and rules do vary between the airlines, some allow pre-booking, with some it is down to the airlines discretion on the day. We will advise you on the latest rules we have available for the particular airline you are travelling with at the time of booking.

Low Cost Carriers.
Many of our destinations are now served by one or more of the ‘low cost carriers’ such as Easyjet, BMI Baby, Jet 2, Ryan Air and Thomson Fly, to name but a few. We will be more than pleased to help you to source these web based carriers in order to provide you with the best priced flight option available. A small administration fee will apply if you would like us to book these airlines and this will be advised at the time of booking.

Luggage Allowance.
The standard luggage allowance is 20kg per person, this will be confirmed on your airline tickets. Some airlines may include golf club carriage within this limit, you will be advised of this at the time of booking.

Meals and Seats
Many charter airlines are now charging for in-flight hospitality such as meals, so please check with us when you book. If you require a special diet or wheelchair assistance, please tell us at the time of booking and we’ll do our best to arrange it with the airline. Also at a charge, some will allow you to pre-book seats on the flight, again ask for more information when booking.

FERRIES
Many of you like to take your own car when travelling to France, it’s so convenient, and using a ferry from one of the channel ports or the Tunnel is easy. Here is some information to help you. We can book your ferry for you. Just call us on 01327 34135.

Eurotunnel
The quickest way to the continent! Drive onto the train at Folkestone and in just 35 minutes you will arrive at Calais. Trains depart approximately 4 times an hour. Great for those wishing to stay in Le Touquet or Hardelot.

Sea France

Brittany Ferries
Brittany Ferries have many crossings that are great for those visiting the Normandy and Brittany regions. Caen and Cherbourg can be reached from Portsmouth in just 2 ½ hours using Brittany Ferries fast ferry service, and in the summer season Cherbourg is also available from Poole. Northern Brittany is best accessed via St Malo from Portsmouth which is an overnight crossing taking approx. 9 hours. Southern Brittany is then just a 3 hour drive away.

If you are wishing to explore the Biarritz area and have your own car then why not combine your golfing break with a mini-cruise using the 24 hour crossing from Plymouth to Santander.

P & O Ferries
P & O ferries will take you into Northern France or Northern Spain. The crossing takes just 90 minutes from Dover to Calais if you are planning to stay in the Pas de Calais area. The 24 hour ferry journey from Portsmouth to Bilbao is a good option if you are planning to stay in the Biarritz area and would prefer to take your own car.
