Golf Holiday Travel Tips
Eating in the hotel
Pre-booked half board is a lot cheaper than Ad Hoc dining in Hotels, so if you are considering eating in at the Hotel most evenings you are well advised to take half board. Talk to our sales team who will advise you.
Passports and other documents
As well as the obvious passports and tickets, for those wishing to drive abroad, please
do not forget to take your driving licence. UK licences are perfectly acceptable in EEC countries. We would like to remind you that while driving you must carry your licence, passport and car hire contract at all times.
Airport transfers are offered for Tunisia and Turkey and we do not include cars in these destinations. Transfers can be arranged to and from the golf courses. Our sales staff will be pleased to advise you on this.
Please note that as well as a passport to enter Turkey, you will also require a Visa which you are able to purchase at the airport on arrival. Please go to the desk in the arrivals hall and ensure that you have £10.00 (must be English pounds, local currency not accepted). The visa must be obtained before you will be allowed through passport control.
Carriage of clubs
We must advise that most airlines now charge for the carriage of a set of golf clubs. Please refer to our conditions of carriage sheet for your airlines policy.
Trolley rental
Trolley rental is available at all the courses and electric trolley or buggies are available at most. On some courses buggies can be pre-booked. Please confirm details with our sales team.
Handicap certificates
The majority of courses insist on all players being able to produce a handicap certificate on request, so please carry these with you to all courses. Please call our sales team for further details. If you cannot produce one you may not be allowed to play and you will not receive a refund.
Golf shoes
Most golf courses are now insisting on soft spiked shoes. We recommend that all golfers take soft spiked golf shoes or those with a facility to be changed to soft spikes. Failure to do so may result in being refused permission to play.
Holiday money
Credit cards and travellers cheques are the best way of keeping your holiday money safe while abroad. Most of our hotels and apartments have safes that can be rented on your arrival. Please do not leave any personal possessions in your hire car whilst it is unattended.
For those travelling to Tunisia, due to restrictions obtaining local currency in the UK, we recommend you exchange your money at your hotel.
In Turkey local currency can be obtained in the UK. However Euros can
also be used instead of local currency.
